                                 MYSTERY STONE BUYONG

AMONG some of the existing attractions on the island of Billiton, one of which is often visited by local tourists are Buyung Stone. A tourist attraction in the area at the tip of the South Island Pacific Islands. Located about 110 kilometers from Tanjungpandan, these attractions can be achieved using two-and four-wheeled vehicles.

MISTERI BATU BUYONG

DI ANTARA beberapa obyek wisata yang ada di Pulau Belitung, salah satu yang sering dikunjungi wisatawan lokal adalah Batu Buyung. Sebuah obyek wisata  yang berada di daerah paling ujung di Selatan Pulau Belitung. Terletak sekitar 110 kilometer dari Tanjungpandan, obyek wisata ini bisa dicapai dengan menggunakan kendaraan roda dua dan empat.   
 Kelebihan obyek wisata ini adalah sebuah batu seukuran lapangan bulutangkis yang terlihat agak unik. Yaitu, seperti sebuah batu yang memang digeletakkan di atas sebuah batu datar lainnya.   Selain sebagai tempat wisata, kawasan obyek wisata Batu Buyong ini juga dikenali masyrakat sebagai tempat yang memiliki nuansa magis cukup kuat. Hingga kerapkali orang-orang mendatangi Batu Buyong untuk bernazar, semisal meminta sesuatu seperti nomor buntut dan sejenisnya.    
Banyaknya masyarakat yang menjadikan Batu Buyong sebagai tempat bernazar, tak terlepas dari cerita dibalik keberadaan dan asal usul Batu Buyong itu sendiri. Yang konon kabarnya hanya sebuah batu kecil seukuran kepala bayi (buyong, red.) yang berasal dari Kerajaan Majapahit.   
Dikisahkan, dalam satu misi perluasan wilayahnya, satu armada kecil dari Kerajaan Majapahit melihat sebuah ‘gosong’ yang aneh. Tampak seperti ‘gosong’, tapi pemandangan dari laut sangatlah indah. Terpesona dengan keindahan gosong tersebut, serempak semua awak perahu menghentikan pekerjaannya. Mereka memilih menikmati keindahan ‘gosong’ tersebut daripada melakukan pekerjaan.    Namun demikian, kendati memiliki kesempatan, mereka tak berani langsung mendarat ke gosong tersebut.
Takjub dengan keindahan gosong tersebut, para awak perahu dari Kerajaan Majapahit seperti merasakan hanya mendatangi sebuah pulau tak berpenghuni saja. Tapi, berdasarkan pengalaman di pulau-pulau lain, mereka merasa yakin bahwa ‘gosong’ yang indah ini pasti ada penghuninya. Dengan keyakinan tersebutlah kemudian mereka menyempatkan diri singgah sebentar untuk sekadar beristirahat sambil menikmati indahnya ‘gosong’ tersebut.   Sesampainya di tanah Jawa, pimpinan armada kecil itupun segera melapor kepada Raja. Menceritakan pulau yang mereka temukan yang dianggap ganjil dan penuh misteri ini. Mendapat laporan demikian Raja merasa perlu untuk segera menanggapinya. Pertemuan singkat pun digelar untuk memutuskan apakah pulau tersebut akan diberi tanda sebagai milik Majapahit. Di akhir pertemuan Raja pun menginstruksikan kepada hulubalangnya untuk membuat sebuah tanda berupa sebuah batu yang dibuat dari ‘batu dapur’ (tanah liat yang dibulatkan, biasanya digunakan untuk membuat dapur api di rumah-rumah di kampung, sebesar kepala buyung –bayi, red.).
Mendapat instruksi demikian hulubalang pun segera menyiapkan sebuah batu dapur lengkap dengan tali rantai yang panjang sebagai ‘pengikat’ pulau tersebut dari Pulau Jawa.   Setelah semua perlengkapan siap rombongan kedua pun berangkat menuju ke pulau misterius tadi. Namun, berbeda dengan rombongan
sebelumnya, kali ini anggota rombongan jauh lebih banyak dari rombongan yang menemukan pertama kali. Singkat cerita setelah rombongan tadi sampai di pulau misterius tadi, mereka segera meletakkan Batu Buyong di tempatnya sekarang ini. Dari batu Buyong itu pula lalu diikatkan rantai hingga sampai ke Pulau Jawa. Setelah tugas tersebut selesai, rombongan itupun terpisah dua. Satu rombongan dengan anggota cukup banyak kembali ke Jawa. Sedangkan sebagian kecil tetap tinggal tersebut untuk mengawasi sekaligus menjaga pulau tersebut agar tidak diambil orang lain. Penjaga inilah yang konon kabarnya masih menghuni daerah dimana batu tersebut diletakkan. Kepada ‘beliau’lah orang-orang minta sesuatu untuk kemudahan-kemudahan yang bersifat duniawi.   
Saat ini batu buyung tadi sudah tidak seperti keadaannya pertama kali dibawa dari tanah Jawa, yang hanya seukuran kepala bayi. Tapi sudah membesar hingga menjadi seukuran lapangan bulutangkis. Namun, yang aneh bin ajaib, letak batu buyung ini persis seperti sebuah batu yang memang digeletakkan di atas sebuah batu datar lainnya.    Menurut pendapat setengah orang, jika batu ini didorong beramai-ramai ia akan tergeer ke lautan. Tetapi karena sekarang sudah dianggap batu berpenghuni, maka orang tak berani lagi membuktikannya. Pendapat lain juga mengatakan bahwa, penghuni Batu Buyung saat ini ada tiga orang. Yaitu Bujang Tanggok (Melayu/Islam); Taopekong Gambar Melayang (Cina/Khong Hu Cu); dan Penderas Kilat Di Awan (Kulit Putih/Kristen).   
Pendapat lain juga menyebutkan bahwa, permintaan ‘sesuatu’ kepada penunggu Batu Buyong ini akan bisa dikabulkan setelah si peminta melakukan satu pertapaan yang sangat berat ujiannya. Mula-mula pertapa dilemparkan ke Gunung Baginda, lalu oleh penghuni Gunung Batu Baginda dikembalikan ke Batu Buyung. Lempar melempar itu terjadi sebanyak tujuh kali secara berulang-ulang. Nah, jika di pertapa berhasil melewati ujian pertama ini, maka si pertapa akan dilemparkan ke sebuah gosong, bernama GOSONG PARAK, untuk diuji secara magis. Setelah seorang pertapa berhasil melewati ujian terakhir ini, barulah apa yang diinginkan dan disampaikan pertapa sebelumnya akan dikabulkan.   Memang sejauh ini tak ada yang menceritakan sudah berapa banyak pertapa yang dikabulkan permintaannya. Namun, sebagian masyrakat tetap yakin bahwa, batu yang semula hanya berukuran sekepala bayi itu dan telah berubah menjadi sebesar lapangan bulutangkis itu, tetap dijaga oleh pasukan yang dikirim oleh Raja Majapahit ketika menguasai pulau Belitung, hingga jadi terkesan angker.
